3 month hiatus from books!

today was fun! Aslam Kash and me went to pool in the morning for the last time this holidays. think it was the 10-15th time we went there. but kash going mjc, so it may not be the same as usual. then went to alphonsus b day party. spent bout 32 bucks in total. then went to Mr Ng's gathering. HUGE PLACE, HUGE CROWD. Blackjack-ed with cash for the fun of it. thought i won some cash but i thought bout it again.. realised i lost 5 bucks. -.- haha, it's okay it's okay... FALL OUT BOT TIX FOR FREE! great fun. okay, so last morning, at about 6.16am, I received the sms from moe. woke up at 8.30 to see the message. at first, it was still quite scary, with the word MOE in the message. opened it... and out came the sigh of relief. think I'm a contender for closest resident to school along with Charlton. haha, yup VJC it was, officially. weeee, I want school to start yet I dun want it to start.

3 month hiatus from studying is FANTASTIC! countless times of movies, pool, food, friends, family and fun for the holidays. if only it could go on forever, like I'm in a dreamland for the past 3 months. maybe it'll continue for a few more days till feb 13 to make it officially 3 months away from reality. but here I am, 3 months later. Life just goes on, and after the share of fun, guess maybe it's time for share of work. though the LUCKY poly students get their school started in April. 2 more months of fun. maybe I'll die of too much fun. xD

then again, we can still have fun in jc! VJC's gonna be fun! we can still meet up! we can enjoy life as it is, just with books that's all. FINALLY threw away my books. arhhh the heartache. but sec sch stuff's pretty useless nowadays anyway.

so, WORK HARD PLAY HARD. just hope that I can adapt back to school life as soon as possible. no more late nights on the com. no more pool on weekdays. this is probably one of the last few holidays where you can lay your hair down totally before the hell that is working life. I'd say it was widely used, but was it wisely used? maybe yes, maybe no, but I understood more of myself. just spending more time to understand myself. from the USA trip to the outings, found out more about the future and just realising what a gift the present is. the well-needed break we all truly deserved was well used. now let's carry on with life.

okay today we had another 4C gathering of smaller proportions. 15 ppl. but it was still a fun experience to be in a wet place at jurong east swimming complex. with the water slides, wave pool and lazy pool, we sure did have fun. Followed up with dinner at swensens' at IMM. EARTHQUAKE and baked rice. headed home to slack and get ready for POSTING RESULTS!

Came back today. if only we could stay one more night, but bro has to go back to NS camp :P so we had to go back by today.

anyway today, we gonna visit my dad's friend, but before that, how could I ever miss a session of POOL!

Haha, the gathering was a success! 31 ppl turned up! and the other 6 had valid reason not to turn up, so we could actually have the whole class turning up (except for David, lucky guy in Canada!) so the pictures are on facebook, much easier to upload pics there. but this one should be the main focus!

Anyway the details are PS2, cards, tennis and the dunking me into the pool thing. Pretty well done. :) along with han sheng and bernard pushing me into the pool waist-high. haha, forgive and forget. anw very nice to get together again, and will prob go for swimming together next thursday before SCHOOL STARTS.

next friday, hopefully we can have another gathering, but it's POSTING RESULTS day, so some ppl may not be free. anyway we'll see. =)

thanks dad and sis and mum for helping me with the food that day! it was a success cos of you! haha!

So, on wed, went to LAN with glen, gordon, faiz, nawawi, shaun and ng ping. second time in three days we playing LEFT 4 DEAD! the latest craze in LAN! On Mon we also played LAN with pool in the morning and dinner at billy bombers at night. on wed, we lunch-ed at MAD restaurant. grilled chicken... good... and we lan-ed for three hours, and we were all about to go home when nawawi asked me to come along to bugis, so I joined faiz and nawawi for bugis shopping! they bought a 40 dollar bag there. O_O and I realized the stuff there are getting better and better! must be the better supply they're getting. and went to parkway baleno so that nawawi could buy a shirt and a soccer ball. COTTON ON IN PARKWAY! =D

headed home and ate some leftovers from tuesday's gathering, before sleeping at 4! then today was pretty much slacking. woke up at 4, watched some tele: okto live and american idol and 13 most shocking hollywood curses. then slept for another 2 hours. woke up at 7, and decided to take a swim at cote d azur. 20 laps, before coming home for dinner (same food again!) before realizing that swimming today is POSTPONED to next thursday. haha, and then using the com since.

Today's gonna be jam-packed. will be playing pool from 11-1 before meeting up some guys in town. will be watching love matters before coming home to get ready to bring NS bro to dinner after 2 week training! then immediately heading off to Malacca to avoid the jam. love the night time spirit in Malacca. Oh yeah,

Meeting up with cousins and relatives from malaysia before coming back on tuesday cos bro gotta boot in again. BOTAK BOY! sure to be a blast! hope I don't miss Mr Ng's party too!

Today, will be doing some fashion thingy at church. wow, time to dress up, but dunno what's the dress code, oh well.

oh yeah, my O level reward. I saw someone's blog and had to talk about it. USA TRIP 08 was the best reward I've ever gotten and just to experience the trip was once in a lifetime. And just glad I could repay the dividends with my O level results. Feels good!

Anticipating JC life together with Wen Jie! and i'm sure everyone will be waiting too. but for now, HOLIDAYS ROCK! :P

Anyway rejected even trying to appeal into RJC and stayed committed to my dream. VJC! Finally after 13 years of living just opposite the school, I'm given the chance to join it! This goes out to my family, especially my dad, my friends, teachers and God. couldn't have done it without them. sounds cliche, but very true.

Must continue to strive on.. along with my fitness too! but my personal welfare is secured. :)

Today no work, so it'll be fun to go out and use some of the money earned. Have to get back like 50 bucks from my dad today. parents went to kl till thurs 8pm. need to discuss and finalize the options. working on friday and now they want us to work alone. stupid idea.

Fruits of labour.

I have truly received the fruits of labour.

Boy, was it nerve wrecking in the hall. The tension just builds up, really. But this day only comes once in a lifetime. Never knew that day would come, but so it did.

Went to trim up my hair before went to school on the bus and saw Andre. smart guy and easy-going, his 6 points were long in the bag. But how bout me? My father always told me that I'm neither here nor there, CANNOT STAND IT.. if i had to be good in something, this had to be it. arrived at about 1 and had a prayer meeting in the amphitheatre. made me much better for the time being, but when yo're in the hall, it's a totally different story.

Seeing my classmates for the first time in 2 months rocks! but it was time. we stepped into the hall. just last year, like i can remember we all sec 3s standing in the gallery, looking down in anticipation. but you won't know how it feels until you are really getting ur results. i'm sure everybody who got theirs would know that by now. so, we went through the admin nonsense, but we just didn't want to hear it! we want the results, yet we don't want it.

so principal came about to tell us more info, the top scorers, the subjects, the distinction rate and the top three classes. 4C NOT INSIDE!!! :( never mind, see how it goes. but our batch not bad at all. though we didn't beat last year's batch, we're still in band 1 with average L1R5 of 10.5. not bad at all!

And prinicpal said, "results distribution is postponed."


















nah, he said, "teachers, you may release the results" and up went Nawawi. Then, Caleb.

so, I went up, took a deep breath and sat. Mr Leo's face to me was like not so good results, i can tell. and unknowing to me, Mdm Tang was smiling away. I saw a damn B three, oh my goodness.





'So how do you think you did?' I was speechless already.

I looked through the slip and saw it. I was at a loss of words, stunned, in disbelief.


















' Huh?? 6?' Mr Leo just nodded his head, smiling. 'THANK YOU!', I stood up and walked behind. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!! THANK GOD THE SAVIOUR!

'How many points, Gavin?' Everyone came around, congratulating me. THE FEELING WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was like, the world at my feet. and I had the chance to feel it. That wonderful feeling. I just broke down into tears. Mr Wong came. Ryan came. and I just broke down. like a gay boy man. called up my parents and sister to tell them the good news. my dad just saying that he's happy made me so happy. It was a dream come true. ME?? 6 points?? THANK GOD.

but it was a sheer heartbreak to see classmates going off after the results, angry. their dreams just shattered, but IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, really. I just came in with one goal: to get into VJC and did it! Went about to thsnk all my teachers, Mr Leo, Mdm Tang, Mr Gabriel, Mr Wong, Mdm Kwok, Miss Lau and Miss Raksha. YOU GUYS ROCK!

I was given a chance at Sec 1, and I took full advantage of it. Rest assured I will continue to strive with God's care. Just the experience was priceless and never will I forget that day, one of the best days of my life. no one can buy that feeling. THANK GOD again, you have set the path and you have plans for us to PROSPER.

I can go on all day, but to celebrate, I'll be working for the next 11 days. :) and I'm glad I did my parents, my friends and my teachers proud. They have been my beacon of light, along with God.

As it approaches 2pm, the hours get longer and longer. Like man! Can't believe we will be getting results today. For 4 years, it all comes down to this day. but man, what a secondary school journey. just wanna wish everyone the best of luck, even though not many would read this. God be with you all.

for now, will be cutting my hair for the first time in 5 MONTHS! and also will be meeting some guys for lunch before heading to school in the trademark SCHOOL U. And tomorrow, I'll be working already! just hope I can settle everything down as soon as possible.

Whatever will be, will be, But we can change that in our future lives, so don't fret.

really dying to go backyard to VJC, it would fulfill my dad's dream. but if not, then it's not the end of the world, really. Then again, I did work my ass off the past few months, and I sort of deserve something. haha, who am I kidding...

anyway, it's been an eventful few days. went to watch some movie called Australia two days ago. It was quite pleasant, but they could call it "Nicole Jackman" instead. anyway, went to eat some McChicken (on budget) and went to the bookstore to check out some books like the kite runner. dun mind getting it. anyway it was back home and having some mixed emotions cos' MY BRO'S GOING NS.

So, we went to send him off today. It didn't really look that bad in camp than I had imagined. and my bro had a super positive attitude about going in. maybe I should be positive too. ALWAYS SMILING WHEN HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO. anyway, it was just looking around my possible future campsite. found it funny at times with the whole set-up and military discipline. had lunch over there and the food is good, especially the herbal soup and soy dessert. very surprising indeed. maybe it's a one -day thing to show off to the parents. anyway, now the whole room to myself! haha!

so, after that, had to rush to cineleisure to watch ongbak 2. it was a ??? ending. like the guy died and he rose from the dead to live on as legend cos of his faith in Buddha. HUH?? anyway, it was really action packed, but the storyline was all too similar to Batman Begins. That's my point of view, you guys should watch it.

So, caleb wants to see serangoon jc, if i can wake up at 9.30. really need to sleep now.

Anyway, it's since Monday that I posted an entry. so while playing pool with Aslam and Kashish, and Aslam brought along newspaper to find a job. We actually did! earning 400++ within 12 days! So after pool on Mon, went to airport and ate Popeyes in T2. Love the environment there and especially the viewing mall. Just talking about dreams and going overseas. Just life.

Then went to the job interview on Tuesday. We were all expecting a fruit drink stall cos we are suppose to promote organic fruit drinks. But we entered some high class office. So talking bout the plan from 12th to 24th jan. MUST WORK EVERYDAY, but can take half days throughout. just get half the money. :) so it sounded good cos bro's also going NS tmr and must create some form of independence for myself. SO no going out for the next two weeks. :( but guess it'll be good for us. Went to eat BK at Holland V. A lot of ang moh there lah. Then went back home and guitar hero-ed all the way and basically slacked.

Now gonna go eat something and maybe following Chun Yong to Orchard. See how arr.

New Com!

Happy to finally get a new CPU! No more lagging, no more slow processing, no more shortage of RAM, no more troubles! Maybe still have arr, cos the programs all need to be installed again. But I think it's better cos it's like a brand new start for the year and better to start from scratch.

Anyway, what a weekend it was. Had a primary school reunion on Sat and boy was it fun. We bowled, cycled, lunched, pooled, mahjonged and dinnered. of course also catch up on old times. Some of the photos on facebook. Then on Sun went to swim 20 laps and felt so good! Felt strong, but guess I need to swim on a more regular basis. I'm a slow swimmer, sadly.

Anyway, now it's time to go play some pool at 12 at parkway.

2009!

It's always the same every year? Yes and no. Yeah, it's the same countdown with the usual last 10 seconds of fame for 2008. No, I spent the night sleeping over at my friend's place! Yesterday and today was fun!

First, went to play some escape theme park. no offence to the park but the place STINKED in service. and it rained and we went on the wet ride which I got totally drenched in, so yeah... wet day. But it was fun with the 12 4C mates, just being together to enjoy. Then went back home to eat some steak! dad cooks the best striploin! then went to Li Zhi's house in tanah merah and played the night away! Guitar Hero arr... texas poker arr... together with the 4C mates and some guests. Then the best part of the day, the countdown and some group shots. they were fun... and we toasted to many things... our o level results... zhi yuan... LIVERPOOL. But really have to thank Li Zhi for this. No parent would have tolerated our voices yesterday, but they still kept silent. Then we played some polar bear and went to eat prata at 3.30 in the morning. then went back to play some com and wii and just talk about life. then snooze at 6 till 10 and now here at home for the new year.
