Day 2

Me posting on a Friday morning. It's like celebrating the inevitable victory before it even ended. That's cos' THE WEEKEND'S BACK!

TGIFs rock!

Anyways it was the second day and if I didn't write about it, no one will (sorry Joshua).
Ok I admit I was slighly late on meeting up with Joshua, but still we waited for half an hour -.-.
Keith has exclusive chaffeur service so no need for public transport there.

Met up with all of the students and they used the com, thanks to my thick-skin of using Youtube w/o permission.

A summary of the things we did today:

Logbook entry, preparations of protein samples of lyzosomes and myoglobin with reference to protocols. Preparation of gel run.

LUNCH at Katong Laksa at Holland V.

Back in lab and Ron was early 1st time on! Plus photos and more photos including one in the lift.
The EXTREMELY STINKY ACIDS: CONCENTRATED ACETIC ACID and THE STINKBOMB.

I actually wondered if it could have actually killed a person with that enormous stench. It just reeked, full stop.

After that we used SHS-PAGE to run the gel and clone the DNA. It was similar to yesterday's work, except that this was a diff. jelly from Agrarose. And what's more, my sample had results :D. I'm so happy!
I also asked about the intro of yesterday's talk cos' couldn't hear a thing. And Sharon came to explain and it showed part of the whole new world I see at the other side of Bio-medical. It was a great intro on the subject and I'm glad I understood.

God Bless and Peace.

IMCB

While many students made their way to school on an average morning, I was going the opposite direction from school, to IMCB. It seemed quite awkward to be in a cluster of working adults, and people must be wondering why isn't a school boy having lessons during this time. I beg to differ, but it's for the research outreach program hosted by IMCB. Was on time to find Joshua and Keith, along with students from other schools of Anderson Secondary School, RJC, RVHS, ACS (Barker) waiting around the area, as we PATIENTLY await the arrival of our mentor.

In the morning, it was down to the conference room for a "short" briefing on safety and an intro on the course. Not knowing it took more than an hour to complete the freaky safety talk, where everything in the lab seemed life-threatening, and the speaker could not even be heard or understood.

Off to the lab and split up into our groups, where I had a partner from RVHS who was almost as blur as me, keep gettingour things wrong. :P

So we started the lab experiments with practising of the microburette, and created 50 microlitres of mixtures to be used for DNA checking. Apparently, I accidently added too much of the tiny yet crucial components, hence the end results were not pretty.

Headed to lunch at hawker centre near Holland V which reeked the fishy smell of leftover prawns from the wet market. A plate of chicken rice, a drink and a bowl of fishball noodles. Total cost: $5.50 (affordable? Hell yea.)

Went back to do experiment on protein structural experiments on egg white and bull muscle. And the earlier experiment was a FLOP. Could have done better, but at least the process was enriching and fun. Just the end results didn't meet my "high" expectations.

Off at 6 and will be back tmr for Day 2. Decided to go the full course despite the risk of missing too many lessons. Never mind, will review the lessons at home.

Aunty Shirley's staying for the night!

Attention: Those coming to my church or want to come for a night of fun and games, please note that we'll be meeting up at Lavender MRT at 6.15pm, do remember to bring a smile! (That means you, Joshua!)

(Synchronizing the Ipod) (If you are a pink-bloused girl who played 退后 on the train, I just wanted to say that you have nice hair.)

Finally!

Found the way to shrink my things together: by checking a box. -.-

Now the blog's more compact and I cut down on the content. I realised not everyone's gonna see the past memories, like MCR, so I'll keep with the present.

My CA results so far are very contrasting. Take SS and Chinese for example, one's screwed while the other's a significant improvement! Figure out which is which. And the two tests today were... I'll just wait for the results. Also my bio test! I have to tell Mr Gabriel I won't be able to take the test tmr due to time constraints.
Oh yeah cos this wed will be going to IMCB, so I'm gonna miss some lessons :(. See how it goes lah.

Hope you all prefer the new layout, anyway it's easier for you all to find out where my tagboard is.

God Bless and Peace.

SLI 2008

Today has to be the most eventful of the week. First off, mini SLI in the morning. As expected, didn't pass thru Mr Maran in the morning :(. It was a warm up to the main thing in the evening.

Then P.E. with our "Man U-Liverpool" game, it was a close game with such a small goalpost. Then drifted away with bigger goalposts. Man U 3-0 Liverpool

After which, SPA. It was pretty okay, except the fact that my focal length is 1cm more than the expected. T_T
Never mind, Thinesh also had the same focal length as me. xD And what's done is done. As long as you have tried your best, that's enough. :)

Following that, MT CA1 (just doesn't stop, doesn't it?). Plus the paper was only an hour long, it was chionging from the passage all the way. Just 5 more minutes would seriously do, but you can't stop time, can you?

Off to the barber, and I was quite stunned with a new '7-minute' policy they have or else money back. Then went home to change and all, and off to SLI!

Waited all the way until it actually started around 6.30pm. Then I saw me dad coming in, haha! But sitting beside Miss Lau O_O.

Presentation, and the best part, my dad took some photos and videos of SLI, including cheering! Will try to upload. The student leaders' pledge, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Concert Band and the Victorian Anthem, then the cheers.

Give me a V-I-C-T-O-R-I-A
What's that? Victoria
Can't hear you? Victoria
One more time! Victoria
VS Ke Mama
Ole Ole Ah Ah
VS Ke Mama
Ole Ole Ah Ah
Shake it up (Yeah)
Shake it up (Yeah)
Ei Bah!

Ah Noo Neh (Ah Noo Neh)
Bak Kut Teh (Bak Kut Teh)
VS eh (VS eh)
Sa Sa Ei

1 clap, 2 clap, 11 clap... VS!

By the way, I didn't refer to anything to type it out. It's all up in my head.

By the way, Singapore won the rights to host Youth Olympic Games. Congrats!
One heck of a day, but it ain't over till it's over.

God Bless and Peace.

888

It appears I visited my own blog as the 888th visitor. 发大财!

Lol, getting invested tomorrow! But lots of obstacle to clear before the end of a busy day.

I absolutely had no time to cut my hair today, so even asked my mum to cut shorter for me. But dun think it's enough. So I have to face the music tmr morning, and tell Mr Maran the truth (have to).

Then, it's Physics SPA. It's something on Lens, but I'm quite nervous myself. Have to revise past practicals over and over again.

Also, it's MT CA1, it just cannot get worse can it? Dun get B3, go to remedial next term. ARRGGGHH, God help me!

But I'm sure I'll make it through the day in one piece, or maybe even more pieces.

God Bless and Peace.

Borderline?

They all had to come on a Monday, aye?

Yup, the entire school delegation had their CA today, and best of all, we had SS first. T_T

But what helped was Mdm Kwok's tip on Fri saying: "Today's Total Defence show very nice arr?"

At the end felt quite confident, until I found out my (b) question was screwed. I mixed up the facts in the wrong category and God knows how I did for the paper right now.

English was okay, cos' of new tactic used. Draw a box, hi-light and things are so much clearer. Clearer than full HD -.-.

With my bro's table out of my room, I'm getting the chance to sleep earlier, while my bro's getting the chance to sleep later and later.

Last weekend, had my first golf lesson and I really want to make space for Sunday. Have to give Stuart a call. The way things are going now: me sleeping on the table with my drool spilling out like a leaking container, and putting the right things first... not too bad.

I can't wait for the month to end!

But at the meantime, stay calm, things will clear up by next week.

God Bless and Peace.

Valerie for Daniel

Somewhere in the world at least. It's Valentine's Day, but a female golfer interpreted the day as 'a post-christmas festive day to boost up sales of chocolates and flowers'. She's got a point there!

It's nice to see newspapers showing articles of love, but just for 1 day? Nah, it should be every single day of your life, whether in good times or bad times.

Today was, unfortunately and inevitably, the last cable-skiing session. I'm gonna miss mornings when you can wear your flip-flops to school, put your bag down at a safe corner and head on down straight to the lagoon. Mornings there are relaxing, yet in this case, freaking exciting and tiring! We didn't have the time to jump together in the salt pool, but I think it was cos' of how many times they fell into the water with the impossible wakeboard, so after 3 tries, I went back to double-skis and how good was I the view. Went 4 rounds in a row at my last attempt, I didn't want to stop. But it was so exhausting, it's like doing a 2km run on water. Plus I didn't know I was told to stop, but I was HAVING SO MUCH FUN. Too bad it's all over. But nothing to fear, cos' Nawawi asked the ski dude and said 15 ppl, 1hr, 27 bucks.

After 'O' levels, we chionging back there :D.

Results are not too bad, but there's a lot of work to be done.

While some lovebirds will be having their share of fun for the night, I'll not be having my fair share of sleep. WHY'S THIS WORLD SO UNFAIR?

Haha. Because Thinesh not fair what, if you know what I mean.

Still suffering from a dilemma, I think it's time to stop it.

G and C can be managed. Whatever my decision, I pray that it would not affect any part of my life.

God Bless and Peace.

Keep our heads high.

I'm gonna write a short entry today cos' I want to keep to a shorter time of using the com and I could go on for hours writing all the little details I can remember. It's been the aftermath of CNY early celebrations, and so far, I'm doing good.

Monday was cool, VS tennis won 5-0 against ACS (International) and we were through to the semis! Had family gathering and dinner at night till 11pm and SALMON SASHIMI is good! Along with cute little nephew Jin Jie!

I was so involved in school work on Tuesday, I was on form till 6. Until I felt exhausted and just slept till 7pm. But managed to revise Bio.

Nothing special that day, but today was. Went off earlier to go to Kallang to cheer the team on for the semis against ACS (I). Just went on all the way until the final match, final set, until we gave way and lost that set. Final score between the 2 schools : VS (2) ACS (3).

Chairs were, I think, the main culprit for the supporters. While the other supporters were left to stand, they were more likely to cheer. I was slightly disappointed with that, but we still showed them the VS spirit. But several red shirts gave it out, like Bernard and Jek-Kai who stood behind the team.

No one knew we would make it to the last 4. No one knew we had fighting players and supporters (spiritually of course). No one saw the players pushing to the limit against the reigning champions. No one thought we would have come so far in such a short time.

The supporters went home with their heads high. The coaches went home with their heads high. The players went home with their heads high. VS went home with her head soaringhigh. Keep her flag unfurled.

God Bless and Peace.

Food, Family, Fun

Some things are meant to be. Lou Hei!
Me, Sis, Jia Jia Yang Teh, Stuart Little Jin Kun, Bro, AMax Jayson
Karaoke time!

WHOA! 6 days ago, I'll be reaching Malaysia around now? I really want to stop time.

Day 1: Tuesday

Had school before that with 3 freaking tests, before leaving 1 period earlier to As I said around now, would have reached the fine town of MELAKA. And have a great dinner at Kamar. Still remembered great Hua Dan He with Ikan Bakar. Arrr...
After dinner went to Bukit Baru to see Tong Tong and Blacky, the two lovely but cowardly dogs. And the whole of Auntie Doris' family.

婆婆, Uncle Steven, Kiat Kiat, Corrine , her boyfriend Jamie, Pei Pei, her husband Ken and their adorable daughter Summer. Already quite a number aye? Since we left the PS2 at home, we naturally had more chats with relatives, before the SURPRISE KARAOKE SESSION!

Went to the new place at the jetty and was told that it opened last week! So wanted to see all the songs they have. Got this HUGE room and we sand for a measly 1 and a half hours -.- Sang songs like JAY CHOU and was told my pitch is too low. I'll work on it.

Back home and slept at... 1.30?

Day 2: 除夕

Woke up at 11 to every bright (and not so bright) faces. Even more relatives came today.

Uncle Tony, Auntie Jin Zi, Jia Jia, Ah Fatt, Uncle Stewart, Ah Yan, Uncle Roland, Jin Kun, Jin Jin, Aunite Alice, Uncle Richard, Auntie Mary, Terrance, Leroy, Jayson. That's not all.

Had 团圆饭 with some great food by Auntie Mary, before heading down to Mahkota Parade to watch CJ7. In contrast to Kung Fu Hustle, I'm quite disappointed, but still the movie was great with some genius touches of humour. Back in time to celebrate 'Countdown', but the celebrations were quite dead in HK. I mean, CNY isn't about countdowns, it's about visiting relatives, getting ang pao.

Day 3: 初一

Finally, that day had arrived. Woke again pretty late, but wasn't the last. Went out of the room and immediately had Ang Pao from Auntie Doris. Counted, and all together had 8 APs (Ang Pao) for the day. It was basically staying at home and having a hearty time with the family. Auntie Shirley, Uncle Frankie, Angeline, Auntie Lily, Dovanna, Stephanie all came that day to 拜年 and have laughs at forgotten memories. We took a family portrait, and I swear everyone seemed happy in the picture. Had KFC for lunch and the same food from last night for dinner, and they all taste great as ever. A little trip down to Jusco and that was the 1st day of the year of the rat.

Day 4: 初二

It was waking up late yet again (it's the holidays, can't waste on precious sleep), and the day went by as quickly as ever. Went out to have an eat around the area and went home to bath for DINNER that day with the whole family. A lawyer with his 2 kids came to visit, but boy were they non-responsive I'm not mentioning they are from Singapore. A simple smile would do, but even that can't be achieved. Anyway Ah Kee, I mean Terrance, had some lame jokes to tell, along with Angeline's brain teaser. And it was off to Hikeng's 5-course dinner. And Karaoke again after dinner to sing our hearts out. Reached home at 1.

Day 5: 初三

Off to a great start in the morning, but relatives were starting to leave Malacca. :(

Anyway we had a great steamboat lunch (took 5 servings) , before we went to the sea side in the evening. Came back to have Bak Kut Teh, which was well done, and before we knew it, it was already 10. Watched some movies before the last night ended.

Day 6: Back To Singapore

That day had to come yea? Inevitably, we said goodbyes to our relatives still in Malacca. Some good food before leaving, and when I checked my weight, gained 4kg. O_O

Some jam at the second link before we reached home at 3.35pm.

I'm gonna miss some of my relatives, but some will be coming to Singapore soon. Arrr school tomorrow and I haven't been doing work in Malaysia! It was impossible to even sit down with all the relatives in the house! But the 3 Fs summed up this trip.

The bond among the cousins, the fun we had besides the PS2 and the good food were some things unforgettable. Gonna keep that memory.

God Bless And Peace.

Malaysia Boleh!

It's been 2 long years since we last went to Malaysia for a great CNY. Last year was down at COLD CHINA for firework bonanza, but this year, we'll stick to 'rocket poppers'. Imagine all the relatives I'd never seen since I was 13. It's going to be a reunion before the revision.

Anyway yesterday was a waste of time, couldn't get myself in study mood! That's why I prefer to study on weekdays. Finally moved my bro's study table to the empty room, so can sleep earlier! Next week lah, not today.

Today, had to meet up with red shirts for tennis support. We won today against Hwa Chong 4-1! 1 more win against Catholic High and we'll through to the semis. So, informed those who can head down to tennis court to cheer the school on! I won't be there cos' going Malaysia at 2 Sorry guys, but I'm sure VS would be fine. Stayed till 5.30pm today; an ordinary school day, except more things absorbed into my head.
Though I'm gonna miss school for about half a day or so, this is gonna be my last holiday before I'm grounded in Singapore. Better enjoy it. It's really sad; same climate (or not, cos' it was freaking cold in Sun!), same place, but all these over by 13th Nov (take note). About 9 months from now, we'll be midway through the 'O's written examination. Think about the target, not the obstacles in front of you.

Oh yeah,

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR WISHING EVERYONE A PROSPEROUS 二00八 YEAR AHEAD

in advance of course.

Back on Sunday.

Malacca, here we come!

Just in case you didn't notice. I'm posting invaluable pics from Australia last year, cos' I have no time to blog bout it! But, the trip was unforgettable. I'd never forget it. And it could take a long time to finish the wonderful collage. Enjoy.

God Bless and Peace.

Bugis Street!

Yesterday was one heck of a day. Away from home for 12 hrs o_O.

Saturdays now are as busy as ever.

Nowadays, can't wake up late anymore cos' of tuition at 11.30. Physics and Chem forbout 5 hrs O_O, but was late by 20 mins. Chemistry teacher is good, unlike someone last year. Physics also not bad.
Then, when tuition ended, it was already 4.15pm, plus it was raining. By then already got calls from Kaymond like "Eh where the hell are you?" when I was on the bus to Eunos. He didn't mind coming to JG, so I wanted to bring him there, but I didn't know I'll be that late. Finally met up at Lavender, and off to JG. By the time we went inside it was 5.10pm. For the outreach, planning to have a mini class outing!

After the service, had no time to introduce Kaymond to the rest cos' it was time to go Bugis! JunRong's idea, so met up with Caleb and him. By then, it was 6.45, so went down to Bugis Street to look around. After 3 hrs of walking, bought a pair of skinnys (Yes finally!) and a red tie only compatible for 1 shirt -.-. Then joined up with Dad and Bro at Beach Road to have dinner. Stepped into house at 11.25pm.

Every Saturday can't be like that definitely, but it's Chinese New Year! Must live up a bit.

And I was quite shocked when Kai En really quit tennis lessons on Sun! I think sooner or later, with the coach, I'll also stop.
Oh yeah, I forgot to write about CABLE SKIING (how could I?).
We did double skis this week and I have to say: it's easier than knee board! Easier to steer and you can stand up. Finally went 1 3-quarter round before I plunged front-first towards the dreaded water (ouch). But i loved it, as in the double skis and not plunging into the water! But even that, it's funny to see ppl fall into the water.
After CNY is the last time :(. But we have a plan.
On the last lesson, we are all gonna take our life vests off and jump into the water, of course with a photo shot of that.
After all, you want to make a memory.
God Bless and Peace.

'Banker'

I'm saying this again and I'm sure this is not the last time. It's Friday, correction Saturday already and boy, time flies like some jet plane.

A little verbal conflict going on in the tagboard, but it's okay: the fact that we are a few years less mature than girls gives us every reason to fight, so let mother war prevail! -.-

Yesterday was funny, at night after tuition, went home to see deal or no deal. The offer by the 'banker' was $260 (where got pathetic) and Adrain Pang wasn't too happy and went up to "fight" the 'banker'. Then I told my sis: I can confirm the banker's Justin Ang. My sis as usual said no cos "how do you know??" So went to ask via sms on muttons at midnight.

Vernon: "Eh we got a funny sms, I'm quite surprised you missed it. It's from Gavin. (COME ON, they read my sms!)

sms: Eh Justin are you the 'banker' in deal or no deal? Cos' you look like him man! Big sized and spiked hair.

Justin: shhhhh, dun tell anyone!

Vernon: Mutton you're the banker in deal or no deal? I hate you man!

Haha, that made my day; gave me the steam to finish my SS homework.

On wed, we won Monfort 4-1! After tt finished off with a solid cheer, led by yours truly. (Snap out of it, haha.)

On tues, 1st english remedial and it was BORING, no offence to Mr EPL. Cos' it was raining and all, it was such a gd weather to sleep in! Shuang lor!

Today, spam homework in KFC, I've never been so hardworking on a Friday. Suddenly beside me there's these few ***** ***** girls laugh so much beside my seat, they were snorting 0_-. But somehow, I managed to concentrate ad get the job done. Homework for weekend done (including SS!)

School week has had its ups and downs, especially in the practical labs. Physics and Bio mock SPAs were not good, thankfully they are only MOCK. I can't screw up the actual SPA after CNY.

I strongly believe a change in tides after CNY, I just feel it. I won't be the person I used to be this past 1 month (or year), God please give me the strength to have good understanding and applying of the topics to come, and pray everyday was like today: focused studying for 2 hours.

Thank You for hearing out on me.

CNY is coming soon! And by Tuesday afternoon, I'm off! I've failed to change myself from the New Year. But now hopefully, let's start something new for CHINESE new year.

But week after CNY is busy, but I'll treat it as a challenge. No longer do I want empty promises.

God Bless and Peace.
